These new tools not only reduce costs but also empower developers to build richer, smarter, and more engaging video experiences—whether for Web3 platforms, AI-powered dApps, or even traditional video use cases.
Your Role:
Livepeer is seeking a Head of Finance to lead financial operations at the intersection of traditional and onchain finance. This is a rare opportunity for a finance leader who’s equally comfortable with spreadsheets and multisigs—someone who can oversee GAAP accounting and tax filings while also managing a crypto treasury, staking portfolio, and DeFi integrations.
You’ll partner closely with the executive team to build a world-class financial operation that supports Livepeer’s hybrid business model, which spans traditional revenue and digital asset value creation. You’ll be stepping into an existing and established infrastructure for the role, and be mentored by experienced operators as you ramp up, rather than needing to build the function from scratch. Responsibilities:
Traditional Finance
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and bookkeeping processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax and financial regulations across multiple global jurisdictions.
- Lead the preparation and filing of annual tax returns.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making across both fiat and crypto-native revenue streams.
- Build and manage a team of in-house operators and external partners, including accounting, tax, and compliance providers.
Onchain Finance
- Secure and manage a portfolio of digital assets, including the Livepeer Token (LPTs).
- Design and implement a staking portfolio that supports the Livepeer network while balancing performance, decentralization, and security.
- Configure and participate in secure digital signing workflows for onchain transactions, including treasury operations.
- Interface with the DeFi and CeFi ecosystem, collaborating with exchanges, custodians, and protocol partners in the Livepeer token economy.
Leadership and Operations
- Act as an independent self-starter, operating with minimal oversight while delivering high-impact results.
- Drive strategic projects that have organization-wide visibility and support Livepeer’s broader mission and growth.
- Manage and grow relationships with keyfinancial service providers, including banks, accountants, tax advisors, exchanges, custodians, and trading desks.
- Oversee the receipt and disbursement of payments, grants, and team-member compensation to maintain operational efficiency.
- Design and implement scalable financial processes and workflows to support Livepeer’s long-term growth and operational expansion.
- Collaborate with People/HR leadership to ensure compensation and incentive structures are strategically aligned with organisational goals, while operating effectively within financial model.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience leading finance at a company or project operating in the digital asset space.
- Deep fluency with onchain financial tools—you understand wallets, multisigs, and smart contract interactions at a fundamental level.
- Hands-on experience with DeFi protocols and practices.
- Strong background in traditional finance, including accounting, tax compliance, and forecasting within a scaling startup environment.
- Expertise in GAAP accounting standards, with working knowledge of crypto-specific accounting rules.
- Comfort with multi-entity operations and global financial structures.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- A builder’s mindset, capable of setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves.
