We’re expanding our team globally, looking for the right people to help us explore further.
We are looking for a Director of Payments to join our growing global Payments team. The Director of Payments will be an experienced leader, who will leverage their payments and operations expertise.
This role is remote with a preference for applicants based in the European Union countries.
Role Overview
Reporting to the VP of Payments, the Director of Payments will be in a highly visible position that demonstrates integrity, accountability, and collaboration. The Director of Payments is responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives globally and interaction with the executive levels of the Company.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive payment and fraud prevention strategies aligned with RockWallet's objectives.
- Contribute to shaping RockWallet’s payments strategy and implementing high-impact opportunities globally
- Lead and mentor a global team focused on monitoring, investigating, and resolving payment and fraud issues related to cryptocurrency transactions.
- Identify and develop payments vendor partnerships and key value drivers
- Develop short- and long-term payment strategies, operational capabilities and tactical plans that support the overall group’s objectives
- Set payment objectives and key performance metrics for group payment strategies while leading payment innovation projects
- Continuously evaluate the internal process controls to identify payment operations weaknesses and risks, as well as make recommendations on how to mitigate those risks
- Analyze, implement, and optimize payments and risk service levels, quality, and KPI's by continuing to measure results
- Contribute to the development and execution of the payment roadmap, enhancing payment-related features and user experiences.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive execution and continuous progress of key strategic initiatives
- Ensure all payment systems and operational policies comply with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Build an extensive payments network and develop and maintain meaningful relationships to stay on top of key trends and industry developments
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field or 8+ years’ experience in the payments and/or risk areas
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payments/gambling/crypto is preferred
- Proven expertise in payment processing, card networks, SEPA/EU-Open Banking, debit card programs, and alternative payment methods (e.g., FPS, PayPal, iDeal).
- Strong understanding laws and regulations pertaining to payments as well as demonstrated ability to ensure compliance controls and interpret regulatory requirements
- A proactive and innovative mindset with a strong interest in emerging trends in cryptocurrency and digital payments.
- Strong leadership skills, including decision-making, conflict resolution, and ability to lead
- Analytical, creative and strategic thinker with an aptitude for problem-solving
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and have experience implementing process change and improvements
- Process orientated with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to build collaborative relationships, results-driven, and possess self-leadership skills
- Strong business acumen in dealing with fast-paced, highly ambiguous and rapidly evolving environment typical of early-stage business formation
