We are working with an innovative startup at the forefront of decentralized finance, developing a cutting-edge Commodities DEX. Their flagship product is a groundbreaking real-world asset (RWA) token each backed by one pound of copper, bringing tangible value to the DeFi space. As Lead Engineer and first technical hire, you'll be instrumental in shaping both the technology and the team. Working closely with the CPTO, you’ll use your full-stack JavaScript expertise and blockchain knowledge to build a secure, scalable platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow into the CTO position as their company expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Architect and implement our core platform using the latest blockchain technologies.
- Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Code Quality: Ensure high standards through rigorous code reviews and best practices.
- Decision Making: Lead technical discussions and make crucial decisions shaping our products’ direction.
- Full-Stack Development: Develop and maintain front-end (React) and back-end (Node.js/Solidity) components.
- Smart Contract Development: Design, develop, and deploy secure, audited smart contracts.
- Blockchain Integration: Integrate various blockchain protocols and technologies into our platform.
- Testing & Deployment: Thoroughly test and deploy new features and updates.
- Security: Prioritize security throughout development to protect user funds and data.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years as a full-stack JavaScript developer with a strong focus on React.
- Blockchain Expertise: 2+ years developing dApps and smart contracts using Solidity.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), React, Node.js, Solidity, Web3.js
- Strong understanding of blockchain concepts and protocols (e.g., Ethereum, DeFi)
- Experience with smart contract development and deployment
- Familiarity with blockchain security best practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in the DeFi or Commodities trading space
- Contributions to open-source blockchain projects
- Familiarity with RWA tokenization and trading
