Hiring is one of the greatest challenges a company faces. Particularly so for companies that work remotely. How can you tell whether a candidate’s character is as robust as their resumé? Or whether they’re as capable of working on their own initiative as they are as part of a team? There’s no easy answer to that: successful recruitment is as much art as it is science.
There are practical steps that recruiters can take, however, to maximize their prospects of picking the best candidate from a crowded field – starting with choosing the best platform for their job listing. After web3 messenger service Status.im recruited a new Technical Marketing Manager through Crypto Jobs List, we followed up to find out how the recruitment process went, and what lessons they learned from the experience.
What was the main challenge in hiring for this position?
We were looking for a highly technical marketing manager to support our growth ambitions. Other platforms delivered some interesting candidates, but we were really focused on candidates that are strong aligned to blockchain technology and believe in the potential of cryptocurrencies. That mix of crypto, technical and marketing proved difficult to find.
What made CJL stand out from other options? The availability of talent that was really passionate about working in the crypto space.
We received 150+ applications, interviewed ~10 and hired 1 (from Crypto Jobs List).
What would be your main reason for recommending Crypto Jobs List?
With CJL, a high proportion of applications to us make it through to interviews (compared with applicants from other areas).
